INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
RESOLUTION TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH MIDSTATE SECURITY TO PURCHASE AND INSTALL FIVE (5) VIDEO CAMERAS AND MONITORING
DEVICES IN HOLDING CELLS NEAR THE RECEIVING AREA OF
THE INGHAM COUNTY CORRECTIONAL FACILITY
RESOLUTION #02-029
WHEREAS, the Department of Corrections yearly inspects the Ingham County Correctional Facility; and
WHEREAS, for several years, the Department of Corrections has indicated in their reports that video cameras should be placed in holding cells near the Receiving area; and
WHEREAS, the 2001 Department of Corrections Report indicates that video cameras must be placed in holding cells near the Receiving area; and
WHEREAS, if video cameras are not placed in holding cells near Receiving, this will be a violation of Department of Corrections Rules and Regulations; and
WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office and the Ingham County Board of Commissioners is desirous of complying with Department of Corrections Regulations.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves entering into contract with Midstate Security for furnishing and installing five new video cameras and monitoring devices in holding cells near Receiving which will augment the current video camera security system at the jail at a cost not to exceed $14,110.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes appropriating $14,110.00 from the 2002 Contingency Fund and the Controller to make the necessary adjustments in the Ingham County Sheriff's Office 2002 Budget for this purpose.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chair and the County Clerk to sign the necessary contract documents consistent with this resolution and subject to approval as to form by the County Attorney for this project.
